Who Needs a Golden Ticket When You Have a Golden Box?

March 1st, 2012  |  by admin  |  published in Acquisitions, True Story

Within this box rests my second Alexander Wang dickie sweater. It shipped from Hong Kong to Los Angeles, back to Hong Kong, returning again to Los Angeles. It’s a long story- and the only part of it that really, truly matters is that it has a happy ending. Complete with me hugging a gold box.

This Therese Rawsthorne dress is now hanging in my closet and will be in my Chicago, Seattle, and New York City closets in 2012. It’s the perfect travel dress to be seen in and to see twenty years from now- in my Los Angeles closet.

The Dark that Brought the Good

December 1st, 2011  |  by admin  |  published in Acquisitions

Just a few companions who came home with me in the early morning of the 25th. It was an early Friday that started out as dark as black, but by light’s near, it was a day shaded in happiness. As Slinky as They Come

July 19th, 2011  |  by admin  |  published in Acquisitions, True Story

I’ll be slinking through the day, evening, and early morning making memories and really- making it all up as I go along- in these Alexander Wang silk dresses. Each dress is the perfect slip-on for a brunch date underneath a flannel or denim button down shirt… a stroll along the beach with said flannel or denim button [...]

In a few days I’ll be headed to Puerto Rico for a summer vacation. Why Do We Call It Makeup When We Believe?

November 8th, 2010  |  by Mel  |  published in Acquisitions, True Story

Right before I left for Hong Kong, I treated myself to a significant Sephora online order- most of which I still need to experiment with. Here are the chosen ones- (From left to right) * Smashbox/Eye Wish Palette (housed in the gold box) * Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero (my main eyeliner [...]

Down in the Town of Gypsy 05, Nana Bijou, and Six-Hundred

September 30th, 2010  |  by Mel  |  published in Acquisitions, Made Out, True Story

Last Friday evening, I headed to Downtown Los Angeles to meet up with old friends and new friends of the Two Point Oh! LA variety. It was our monthly Bloggers’ Cafe, where we had the opportunity to handle the creamy Gypsy 05 tops and dresses and distinguished Nana Bijou jewelry- all displayed in a sleek [...]

August 23rd, 2010  |  by Mel  |  published in Acquisitions, History, Made Out, Perspective, True Story

Topshop dress and boots, Beso handbag Feeling musically-inspired after Saturday as I sweated it out at Sunset Junction seeing a number of bands play and watching life-loving guys dance to techno music. I Long for You No More

November 17th, 2009  |  by Mel  |  published in Acquisitions, Made Out

My arms are actually sore from carrying all of my Long Beach Antique Market finds. It doesn’t help that I was sweating in my LA Dodgeball Society t-shirt, Nightcap Clothing leggings, Dita Dynasty sunglasses, Free People boots, topped off by an oversized Pixie sweater that I had finally freed my body from only 20 minutes [...]
